Free tool for Chroma Keying

The proper usage of green screens to replace the background of footage is time-consuming. The Corridor Crew produced a YouTube video in early March in which VFX artist Niko Pueringer outlines the development of his free open-source application, which uses neural networking instead of traditional chroma keying. Shortly after, the community stepped in to help develop the program further.

The utility is currently available as an OpenFX plugin for DaVinci Resolve as well as standalone software called “EZ-CorridorKey“. Our initial tests verified that the tool works effectively with solid objects, even those that are out of focus. Ideally, the tool might be trained to handle reflection and refraction of transparent objects.

Blender 4.4 has been released!

Blender 4.4 is all about stability. During the 2024–2025 northern hemisphere winter, Blender developers doubled down on quality and stability in a group effort called “Winter of Quality.” In just a few months, developers fixed over 700 reported issues, revisited old bug reports, and addressed unreported problems.
